with Coco

There are days for lists and reservations, and there are days that are better without either. A Sunday in Paris with Coco belongs to the second kind.

We like to begin somewhere quiet, before the city properly wakes up. A corner table, a coffee that lasts longer than planned and enough space under the chair for Coco to settle in. The best dog-friendly places are rarely the ones that make the biggest point of being dog friendly. They simply make room for you both.

Start slowly

Choose one neighbourhood and stay with it. Paris becomes easier when you let a small part of the city unfold instead of moving from landmark to landmark. Walk until you see a bakery you like. Cross the street because the light is better on the other side. Stop when Coco wants to stop.

Leave space between places

We always build breathing room into the day. A garden bench between coffee and lunch. A longer route because the street looks beautiful. Ten minutes on a quiet square with no agenda at all. Those pauses are often the moments we remember most.

By late afternoon, the plan is simple: find somewhere with outdoor tables, order something small, and stay until the light changes. Coco watches the street. We watch Coco. Paris carries on around us.

The point of the day

The Dog Friendly Guide was never meant to be a list of places to tick off. It is about finding places worth sharing. On a slow Sunday in Paris, that difference feels especially clear.
